I am an avid photographer and whenever I travel I love to
take pictures. However when it comes to Melbourne
and the region around it i.e . the
entire state of Victoria.
I would like to be seen in a lot of those pictures. So much so that I have
created a list of places that I would like to visit and take a selfie at all
these beautiful places.
Though the list is in random order however I would like to
start with the The City Circle Tram
The point I want to make it that Melbourne is a very safe (As a girl traveler
I am really excited about this!) and tourist friendly city. That’s the reason
that it offers an opportunity to see the city completely free by using the City
Circle Tram. This tram goes through the city and one can view all the
attractions of the city . The best part is that one can get off at any station
and get on to the next tram after walking the streets, enjoying a quick snack
or as in my case take a Selfie ;)
I am a die hard chocolate lover and how is it possible for
any chocolate lover not to visit the Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory.
Watch this pic Its so much chocolate that I could go on
eating it forever.I have to take a selfie here.
Talking of Die hard ,there is a die hard cricket fan in me.
How can I not come to Melbourne
and not take a selfie at the MCG
Besides 2015 is the best time to visit Australia and Melbourne as it is the co-host of the 2015
cricket world cup. Dhoni,Virat & the gang ke saath Ek Selfie to Banta Hai
Boss (One selfie with Dhoni ,Virat and the rest of the team is a must )
Even before I start packing for my trip the little cute
penguin at Phillip island with their lovely antics are always so inviting. Dear
penguins here I come to take a selfie with you,so get ready to say cheese.
Though I am a laid back and leisure loving traveler but the food & specially the wine of the Yarra region gives me a compelling reason to travel to Melbourne and of course every meal is a selfie opportunity with a plate filled with gastronomical delights.
The nature lover in me is eager to experience that memorable
and breathtakingly beautiful balloon ride over Yarra valley at sunrise. Sunrise in Australia
I want to bring you back home in my selfie!
Guys I can no longer restrain the shopaholic in me who is
dragging me to the Queen Victoria market which has some amazing wares and
foodstuff on display.
I thank my stars that I learnt to drive and the best
utilization of my skills would be when I drive along the Great ocean road in a
convertible and let all that ocean breeze pass through my hair.
Twelve Apostles here I come I want to take a selfie with you
beautiful rock edifices jetting out of the ocean.
When I am on a Selfie spree that how can I not go to the
Eureka Skydeck which is the highest
public vantage point in the whole of Southern Hemisphere. As “The Edge” which happens to be a glass cube
sliding out of the building with me inside will provide the perfect site for
some panoramic selfie’s at a height of
285 metres!
Riding in the Puffing Billy
will be another memorable experience as I ride through the spectacular Dandenong Ranges
near Melbourne.
Guys the memory card of my phone is almost full with all the
selfies that I took yet there are so many more places that I would love to
visit and take a selfie in. However my question to you is

I am equally excited to hear that Melbourne is a safe city Hemaa. Lovely read. The best part is Yarra valley at sunrise. I'd love to take a selfie in a MCG along with my favorite cricketers like Ricky ponting, Steve waugh, Mathew Hayden and a bunch of cricketers. So definitely MCG is my first pick.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post Hemaa and I'd like to hear your say on mine as well http://creatikaa.blogspot.in/2014/12/melbourne-awe-inspiring-place-to-visit.html
My best wishes and a Happy New Year 2015 :) ;)
Thanks
DeleteI enjoyed it too
DeleteGreat post! After reading your post & watching all the videos, I’d most like to visit the Dandenong Ranges for it’s scenic beauty, breathtaking view and cool breeze blowing through my hair. :P I’d give anything away for driving through the winding roads which are present throughout the ranges. I’d love to stay at one of the bed and breakfast cottages and go on frequent excursions in the forests with my camera which provides excellent views. And not to forget the famous ride in the Puffing Billy, a day reserved especially for that. To add to that, there are also several picnic spots for me and my friends to spend a fun-filled day and the ranges are a perfect spot for hiking and cycling.

DeleteLove the penguins...
ReplyDeleteI'd love to wake up next to the ocean...walk on golden sand every morning. ..
I would love to check out the helicopter ride to the 12 Apostles.... and drive on thr great Ocean road in a blue convertible...singing khwabon ke parinde.... a la Zindagi na Milegi Dobara
And wear huge diamonds and take a selfie on the Eureka Skydeck...against the Melbourne Skyline
And chill in the Yarra Valley Vineyards...
what a life that would be....
happy new year to you and your blog
thanks
DeleteMelbourne meets all the criteria of a great world city that welcomes both visitors as well as nurtures its residents who have made this wonderful place their home. All the best for the contest
ReplyDeleteWow! Magnificent City + Awesome AIB videos + Well Compiled post
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading the post!
Good thing you embedded AIB videos in your post, I am a big AIB fan so it really helped to make choices as to which places to visit in Melbourne.
Firstly, I would like to take a ride around the city in those Tram Cars. The idea of getting off and enjoying the city and again back in those Tram Cars seems exciting for a Peak time commuter of Mumbai locals ;)
Would love to visit the Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory to know how the heavenly delight- Chocolate is prepared.
Shouting Slogans like Tanmay & Rohan of AIB at Cricket Worldcup 2015 is a must if I happen to be in Melbourne at that time. Yes, Selfies with Indian Team too, if possible.
For the nature enthusiasts in me, Melbourne has lots of rides to offer. The Hot Air Balloon ride in Yarra valley, admiring 12 Apostles from a Helicopter and a long ride on The Great Ocean road would be a real delight. Will surely get awesome selfies here to get bragging rights among friends like you said.
Thank you for the Contest :)

DeleteNice post. And pretty well explained. I absolutely loved the way you described the places in detail. Your post gives me a feeling that I've been there in Australia for myself. Of all, I would like to go and experience the hot air balloon ride. Would be an awesome experience, that too one, memorable for an entire lifetime.

DeleteGreat post indeed..... You have presented your liking so nicely...... Everything is special about Melbourne. But, the first thing I will love to go after reaching Melbourne is the botanical garden, where I can cherish the serenity of a countryside in the middle of a bustling city.......... Thank you again for such a nice post and my best wishes for the contest..........
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteA very well detailed post! All the best for the contest :)
ReplyDeleteI just have way too many “I want to go there” places *travel gluten* But if I had to pick one place i wouldn’t miss at any cost it would be the 12 Apostles and Loch and Gorge beach for one simple reason – The Drive! Windy long drive, symphony of waves constant company of nature all the way and yes being a poet myself this place will be a better muse for me than it was Tanmay and Rohan :P
Thanks
DeleteInteresting Post
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post and watching all the videos
I feel I have stepped into a kaleidoscope called Melbourne
Where Vistas of experiences would unfold one after another
The nature lover in me is enticed by the thought of watching the penguin parade.
Traveling though the great ocean road, soaking up the freshness as the breeze ruffles my hair gets me in the mood to pack my bags for Melbourne.
But before I can move ,Puffing Billy whistles and invites me for a ride. The kid in me jumps with joy at the thought of visiting Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory
Even before I can deside on the list of places that I would like to see in and around Melbourne.
What’s that noise that I hear ?
Oh its loud cheer from MCG as the cricket world cup 2015 is about to kick start.
So many plces to see and so much to do.
I am thetimetraveler ( http://goo.gl/wdXDzu ) and I have decided … Melbourne here I come ( http://goo.gl/RvUCQf )
Thanks
DeleteSelfie with Dhone, Virat n the team!! My hearty wishes your Melbourne dream comes true and you get to click selfie with the team.
ReplyDeleteFor the nature lover in me, I would love to visit Ballarat Wildlife Park n handfeed Kangaroos and Koalas. My little one would love to watch them in the wild..
This is a beautiful post. Very well written. I would like to go on a hot air balloon over the countryside around Melbourne. I believe it would be safe, safer than most places and the views would be spectacular......

DeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteWe know beauty never need words but without words it cannot be explained and when you get wordless after seeing it... your mouth still get open wide and WOW comes out. Dear! Your explanation about Melbourne is wonderful and picturesque description. I am a person who always attracted to nature first of any place so I would love to see the Melbourne Nature & Wildlife. The 12 Apostles rock formations is world famous rocks which changes its color in sunrise and sun set. And then I will see the Phillip Island Nature Park where I want to see the animals which I hardly see in India. I never saw Penguins, Koala and other animals.
Driving on a smooth road with natural beauty around you, it always gives you a feeling of heaven on Earth. I would love to drive on Great Ocean Road which is also famous in world to give you a scenic experience and the pleasure of that driving is amazing.

DeleteENjoyed reading your post, Hemaa! :)
ReplyDeleteI have Eureka Skydeck 88 on my must-visit list of places when I visit Melbourne. Watching the city in a glass case while suspended in air at such a great height is an experience that doesn't happen everyday. I was ecstatic when I heard about Eureka Skydeck 88 and can already feel the excitement of visiting it someday..I have my fingers crossed that the visit happens sooner than later! :)
Thanks
DeleteLoved your Post and the videos.Watching the videos has only made my resolve to visit Melbourne grow stronger as it is a place blessed with natures splendour
ReplyDeleteand also a place where man lives in harmony with nature. The beautiful vineyards would be a great reason to go however the visit to the Pannys Phillip
Island Chocolate Factory looks like I am going to a dreamland. Specially the kids in the family would find it very exciting and I will have the opportunity
of reliving my childhood and be a child with them.

ReplyDeleteI want to visit chocolate factory and MCG in Melbourne. I want to swim in that liquid chocolate (cold chocolate) and I want to try every single type of chocolate there and want to have chocolate shots as much as I want.
ReplyDeleteMCG is like a dream for every cricket passionate. As a player I want to feel its atmosphere and as a cricket lover I want to cheer for India from its top tier. I want to visit MCG members reserve as well.
Nice Blogpost.
Oooo! Love the post. Of course, being an art addict, I suspect I'd be spending a lot of time at the Hosier Lane. And The Amazing World of Chocolate will definitely be a huge draw... because, you know... chocolate!

DeleteHi Hemaa. That's a pretty comprehensive post on Melbourne. From these videos, I would like to visit MCG with my son and husband who are sports enthusiasts.
ReplyDeleteMCG is home to Australian football, international and domestic cricket, concerts, special events such as international soccer and rugby matches. And that the 1956 Olympic Games, 2006 Commonwealth Games were hosted here and that it has the National Sports Museum too, the MCG truly is the epicentre of Australian sport. Seeing all this in reality (which we have been seeing on TV all these years) would be truly an enlightening, enriching and an exciting experience for us!
Have heard that MCG Tour allows the visitors to see and know all about MCG along with access to areas including player change rooms, the Ron Casey Media Centre, member only areas of the Melbourne Cricket Club such as the Long Room and a walk on the hallowed arena. It would be like walking in the steps of great sporting legends. And wouldn't that take the sporting buffs like us on cloud 9. MCG is No. 1 on our list when we visit Melbourne!
And, we would love to explore the vineyards that date back to the 1850s and still produce long-lasting wines and the boutique wineries that produce Chardonnay, Shiraz and Pinot Noir. :)
Thanks
DeleteI so love your post's title. Great post, good luck! :)

DeleteWonderful post and interesting Pictures & videos that make me feel that
ReplyDeleteMelbourne invites the eternal romantic in me to hold hands with my beloved and go see the Twelve Apostles .Go on long drives on the great ocean road. In the middle of nowhere in a vineyard spread a table and enjoy a meal and a glass of wine with my dear one. Enjoy the sunsets holding hands and do lots of shopping at the Queen Victoria Market and see all the graffiti being created at the hosier lane.
Great Post and interesting videos watching them I am sure to visit Sovereign Hill for spending some time in the era gone by. The lure of gold and panning for some nuggets is a temptation that is too much to resist. After I have found the gold I am bound to celebrate it with some wine so I will visit the vineyards and enjoy some great wine from the Yarra region .Visit the Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory and have my fill with this yummy delight.
