My First Love

I love to travel, which is also my first love.I think I am a wanderer by nature. My family has rooted me to my home otherwise I would have been a nomadic.I love to explore new places, food and cultures.Countries are classified by boundaries.Visa obligations is another hindrance.Unlimited paperwork takes up most of the fun and time.

Sometimes I wonder if there is more to explore.

Before we explore the destination on earth I always like a small kid love to explore the cloud world. I always insist for window seat on my flights. Its my hobby to see the clouds for unlimited time while others sleep or watch movies or listen to music.Even on long haul flights I prefer to stay awake and see nature at its best. Some scenes are spell binding just magnificent.

Now thinking back to how this love for clouds started I remember when I was a little kid I was afraid to fly.But then my mother beautifully turned my fear to my passion. She showed me different formation of clouds and the colorful rays of light. These fascinated me and now I love to fly and excitedly wait to explore the new heights. No camera can capture the beauty of the nature. Its a feast for the eyes.

Unfortunately I don't have the pictures but in memory the beautiful sights of nature at its best is still fresh. It seems as if God himself is painting a canvas and experimenting with different colors and hues.Sometimes I felt may be I would be able to sight some magical land, fairies or some form of life in between the white feathery clouds.

I hope I get more such opportunities to experience the charisma of God.

Diwali in its true Avtar

Diwali is the biggest festival for me and my family. We eagerly wait for this festival every year. Beginning of Navratras is the time when we start our preparations. But no time is enough as the time between Dusherra  and Diwali just flies so fast.First comes the cleaning part which I honestly dont like much but its a must.In a way it is good as we prepare for the approaching winters when its not easy to clean the house or wardrobes in such detail. But the cleaning exhausts me completely. Its also a time of treasure hunt as I discover so many things in my cupboard and drawers which I never knew ever existed.Second phase is shopping which I completely love. But the budget controls my splurging as there is no end to my shopping spree. We purchase new utensils, clothes for everyone and lots of mithais. Then me and my brother wrap these gifts nicely with personal notes. On choti Diwali we start visiting our relatives, neighbors and friends homes and shower them with gifts and sweets.

Then comes the main Diwali day which I always feel is the shortest day of the year.We begin our day early starting with making of rangoli and charan of Lakshmi Maa at the entrance. Then I help my mother in the kitchen as we make Gujjias, mathis, shakarparas for the feast.

The name Diwali comes from a Sanskrit word that means "row of lights."But unfortunately for some Diwali is the time to burn crackers and produce sound and air pollution.I remember My grandmother nani had a terrible time during Diwali as she was asthmatic and smell and smoke of crackers made her miserable to breathe.People should understand that Diwali should be a good memorable and happy time for everybody. This time as the court ban of crackers in Delhi was imposed I was very hopeful many would breathe with relief. However on the Diwali day people still managed to burn crackers in large quantity.I believe its a duty of the parents to educate their children.

Lets pledge that each year Diwali is a Happy and Healthy occasion for one and all.
